Winter is here in Minnesota. Chrisklaus is coming. Snow is pilling up. “Ikwe's” (woman's) car that is called KIA (which to me means “KILLED IN ACTION”) died on the day I made its 70th and last payement. The two year old washer quit. Vietnam taught me two things: “It ain't no biggie” and, my favorite,”I don't give a fuck”. Or as my old Grunt Bud (FW) Jim Northrup says “The ammo's free”.
Anyhoo, I sat down to read my email and kept getting these irritating pop-ups from some ripoff “sons o beaches” who want $79 to stop it. After making some calls, and being informed they were crooks, I tried working around these irritating pop-ups. Finally, I opened my e-mail, one from Song O’the Day. My favorite, “Slim Friday,” arrives on Saturday. Reading his posts always brings back memories of my younger years, along with a little envy, of the fun Slim has with his life.
My memories of that Harley Shovelhead-ridin', silicon-injected retired hooker that wanted to be Chris
(Shlepcar's) first, or my old 5'11” sportin' 44s Dump Truck Operator, who could drink me under. Chris met her at my class reunion in August. I've known her since the first grade. And then there was the chick who would have seizures. What a ride!
My 11-year-old granddaughter Caprice- my son Joe named her after his car- was here visiting last night. Caprice asked to use my computer. Sure Sweetie. As she was leaving, she stopped to hug me and said “Grampa I fixed it.” And damn if she didn't. Caprice has all the latest electronic gadgets and helps me.
Anyhoo, having to get a new washer I am able to give my woman two gifts: a new washer and a red and silver non-slip grip snow shovel. I know she will be happy. Wait till she sees that used 4x4 I will get her, an early B-day gift. It's time to go watch corporate football. Millionaires playing for billionaires. It's that or bowling!!!
