Sitting here after reading Tha5ftAzzazzin's well thought out scribe, thinking about the sad state of affairs we are in! Corporate-run America, a government run by politicos whose main objective is to get re-elected. We told you this was gonna happen, back in the 70s, and then we joined forces to make sure it did, working for the last 30 years... Here are the fruits of our labor.
Lemme see what we have here: A war without end. Corporate oil killing the Gulf, defying the American people, secure in their knowledge they own Congress. Our continued use of fossil fuels until every last drop is consumed. The Catholic church, run by a former Hitler Youth working to protect its pedophiles from prosecution, claiming its persecution. I'm tired of seeing these evangelist Congressmen come on TV crying about their infidelities after being elected by a “dummed” down populace, having learned to spout the Christian right buzzwords “family values”. Getting to DC, “Party Town USA”... more pussy than his evangelical ass ever dreamed!!!
There's a bike club in Minnesota- the BPMs (Booze, Pussy and Motorcycle”) Change “motorcycle” to MONEY an dit fits Congress.....We never learn. All that needs to be done is to look at our past. Being a Vietnam Veteran, I can remember how quick this country was to wash its bloody hands of the whole fiasco, never wanting to look at what was wrong with our policy. Well, here it is!
Countries do not like to be told by the USA how to run their affairs. It's simple. If you try telling someone how to live their lives, or steal their resources, invade their country...they will fight you, kill you, or die trying. What did the first illegal immigrants do in this country? They told their masters that “We will not bow to the King anymore!” Seems after WWII, the USA became what President Eisenhower warned us about in his farewell speech: A Military Industrial Complex. The warning was corporate industry saw the military as where to sell its wares by influencing Congress. Continuous wars, uprisings, or threats to our freedoms scared the American populace into backing their ploy. Incidentally, Eisenhower's speech was penned by Malcom Moos, former President of the University of Minnesota.
I'm gonna get off my soapbox now. Thanks 5ft! I know you're bigger than that! I will read it again, feeling there's hope, knowing there has got to be more like him out there in good OLD OPRYLAND!
