Gregg Allman - 2011 - Devil Got My Woman [originally posted on 1/24/2011]

A new liver and 14 years of silence, Gregg Allman released Low Country Blues. “Devil Got My Woman” is the best track on this CD! I know what he is sayin'! This is my kinda music! Drinkin', dancin', ridin'!

I would listen to the Allman Brothers on 8-track drivin' down the road. I once gave a copy of an Allman Brothers recording that I had copied to a chick. She gave me some.

Anyhoo, they were one of the Southern White Boy Bands that got it right! A few other good ol' boy bands were Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughn, George Thorogood, The Marshall Tucker Band, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Ol' Greg- losing his brother Duane, guitar playing genius killed on his motorcycle- became a heroin junkie and, maybe for that reason, married Cher, who acted all shocked when she found out she had married a stone cold junkie! Dope smokin', heroin shootin', coke snortin', and alcohol drinkin'... OH MY. She couldn't rehab him! She blabbed it to the media! They would cut a forgettable album called Allman and Woman. A baby called Elijah Blue came of this union, who now has his own band. You can listen to Low Country Blues at www.rollingstone.com FFO- The Pack is Back!!!
